To enable the Inquisiq User Ratings feature, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Administrator Menu.
  2. Click the Features icon.
  3. Check the “Enable User Ratings” box in the “User Ratings” section.
  4. Click Save Changes.

Please note that if you would like users to see the average user rating for a course when they view the course from your course catalog, then additionally check the “Publicize User Ratings – Average score is visible to users” box before clicking Save Changes.

To enable the ratings feature for a course, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Administator Menu and click the Courses icon.
  2. Click the Modify (pencil) icon for the desired course that you would like to allow learners to rate.
  3. Check the "Enable ratings for this course" box in the Properties tab.
  4. Click Save Changes.
  5. Repeat for all courses that you would like users to be able to rate once they have completed the course.

Once a user has completed a course (i.e. completed all of the contained lessons within the course), the user can then select 1 - 5 stars for the course in the course detail screen (the screen that displays the course description, their lesson statuses and scores, etc.). If they have not completed the course, they can see the stars in the top left corner of the course detail screen, but cannot input a rating until they complete it. Once a user has rated a course, the average rating will then appear in the Ratings column (next to the Credits column) of the Courses screen. You will also see the average rating displayed in the Properties tab of the course configuration screen as well as the option to "Reset rating" if you would like to wipe out all of the ratings for the course within the system. Please note that once the rating has been reset, you can no longer run a report on the ratings that were placed prior to the reset.

To run a report on the course rating and the number of votes cast for the course, configure a report using the Catalog and Course Information dataset, then check the following fields: Course Name, Course Rating, Votes Cast (you can also add the filter, "Course Rating is not empty," to limit the report to only the courses that have been rated thus far). Please note that you cannot run a report to see who has rated a course, only the total number of votes cast and the average rating for the course.
