TROUBLESHOOTING: Error "Login Failed: That username is currently logged in from another workstation"
Posted by Heather Zauner on 22 April 2016 12:11 PM

Symptom:

Upon attempting to log in, you receive the error "Login Failed: That username is currently logged in from another workstation."

Background:

The way the portal is currently set up does not allow simultaneous sessions for the same username.

Solution:

If the System Administrator approves of/wants multiple users to be able to log in to the same user account at the same time, they need to go to "Login Setup" from the Administrator Menu, and check the box next to "Simultaneous Login."

If the System Administrator DOES NOT want multiple users to be able to log in to the same user account at the same time, keep the "Simultaneous Login" box un-checked, and give login priority to either the first person who logs in (preventing attempts by other users to log in at the same time), or the most recent person who logs in (kicking out users who are currently logged in).

Note that the system will automatically log out an inactive user after 20 minutes.
