Lesson Performance in Inquisiq User Stats Missing Completions

In the administrator view of a user’s page, under their Stats tab, the Lesson Performance section counts less lesson completions than the user has actually completed.

The number of lesson completions missing from the Lesson Performance completed count is equal to the number of lessons that the user completed that were published to SCORM 1.2, rather than SCORM 2004. Courses published to SCORM 1.2 can only send one parameter to the LMS: a vague indication of completion or success. Meanwhile, SCORM 2004 can send *both* COMPLETION *and* SUCCESS parameters to the LMS. Any LMS, including Inquisiq, is equipped to receive both of these parameters. When a course published to SCORM 1.2 does NOT send one of these parameters, the LMS stores the status as “unknown”.

The Lesson Performance section in Inquisiq specifically looks for a “completed” completion status stored for the completion parameter for the lesson. If a lesson is published to SCORM 1.2 and set to track passed/failed or passed/incomplete, the LMS will ONLY get the “passed” success status upon a user’s completion, so the completion status will be marked “unknown”, thereby causing the Lesson Performance analytics to not count the lesson as “completed”.

Publish courses to SCORM 2004 to have full control over how your course behaves, as well as to fully utilize the advanced data analytics in your LMS.
