Page Cannot Be Displayed Error
Posted by Joseph Carpenski on 22 June 2010 02:48 PM

When accessing a page in the LMS, the browser displays a "Page cannot be displayed" error.

There are many possible causes, but you must first turn off friendly http errors to see the actual error code.

Applies To:

Microsoft Internet Explorer

Turning off friendly http errors causes the browser to show the actual script error that was generated by the server. Once this is turned off, perform the function again to see the error code.

Turn off friendly http errors:

In Internet Explorer...

  1. Click 'Tools' and select 'Internet Options'
  2. Click the 'Advanced' tab.
  3. UN-check 'Show friendly HTTP error messages'.
  4. Click 'Apply'.
  5. Click 'OK'.
  6. Close and restart Internet Explorer, then reload the page to view the server error.

In Chrome...

  1. Right click the page, and select "Inspect."
  2. Click the "Console" tab.
